How to Use Highlighting
Let’s walk through how to effectively use Mote’s Highlighting feature.
Using Highlighting
Highlighting is your tool for organizing ideas and key information. Integrated with Mote Mastery, every highlight is stored in one place so you can revisit and revise it anytime.
1️⃣ Step 1: Navigate to Reading Mode
Click the top icon in the Mote sidebar to open Reading Mode. You’ll know you’re in Reading Mode when the book icon is showing.
2️⃣ Step 2: Select text to highlight
Once in Reading Mode, select any text on your webpage you want to highlight and click the highlighter button.
3️⃣ Step 3: Apply your highlight
With your text selected, choose your preferred highlight color and click Apply Highlight. That’s it!
Using Labels
Mote offers five easy-to-use highlighting colors. You can customize the label for four of them (the vocabulary label is fixed). To rename a label, click the dropdown next to the color and enter your preferred label name.
Mote Mastery Integration
Whenever you apply a highlight, it’s automatically saved in your Highlight List within Mote Mastery. To view your saved highlights, click the book icon in the sidebar and go to your Mote Mastery page. There, you’ll see all highlights from the page organized with their corresponding labels—making it easy to revisit and review your work anytime.
