How to Use Read Aloud

In Reading Mode, there are two main tools for converting text into speech: Play Page and Select Area to Read.

Using Play Page

Play Page is your go-to Read Aloud tool. With one click, it reads an entire webpage, Google Doc, or Slides presentation aloud using natural-sounding voices and dialects, complete with synchronous text highlighting for improved comprehension.

1️⃣ Step 1: Navigate to Reading Mode
Click on the top icon of the sidebar and navigate to Reading Mode. You'll know if you're already in Reading Mode if the book icon is showing.

2️⃣ Step 2: Click 'Play Page'
Once in Reading Mode, clicking the Play Page button will immediately begin reading the entire page aloud.

3️⃣ Step 3: Skip between paragraphs
To skip ahead or go back to a previous section, press the skip buttons or click the Play Paragraph button.

Adjusting Settings

In both modes, you can adjust the reading speed (slow, normal, or fast) and choose from a wide range of human-like voices. These settings allow you to customize playback for your preferred pace, style, and learning needs. Click on the avatar icon in the customization window to change language and voice, or adjust the playback speed using the number control.
