What is Read Aloud?

In this section, we'll explore Mote's Read Aloud feature, which converts any text on a webpage into spoken audio, making content more accessible and helping to develop reading comprehension.

The video above demonstrates the Play Page option, one of our Read Aloud tools, which reads an entire page aloud using natural, human-like voices. Students can also use the Select Area to Read button to drag and select text within images, graphics, and PDFs to convert to speech across any webpage. Playback speed is also customizable for a personalized learning pace.

Read Aloud for Students

Read Aloud supports students with reading difficulties or visual impairments by providing audio accommodations. Additionally, synchronous text highlighting while listening helps to improve reading comprehension and understanding. ESL students also benefit from Read Aloud as it models pronunciation and makes complex, text-heavy content more accessible.

Continue to the next section to find out how you can use Read Aloud.
