Speech to Text Translation

Dictate in your own language and translate what you said into 60+ languages, then drag the translated text straight into the page.

Qué hace esta función:

Speech to Text Translation lets a student speak in one language and write in another. When a transcription finishes, click Translate and pick a language: the transcript is translated in place, so the text you drag or copy into the page is the translated text, not the original.

A student can talk through an answer in their first language and hand it in in English. A teacher can give instructions in a student's language. It covers 60+ languages.

Por qué es importante:

  • A student's thinking runs ahead of their English; this lets them do the thinking in the language they think in
  • Separates what a student knows from how well they can currently express it in English
  • The translated text goes straight into the page, so there is no copying between tools
  • Works both ways: teachers can produce instructions in a student's language

MTSS:

  • Tier 1: Another route into written work for any student
  • Tier 2/3: Core support for newcomer and emergent bilingual students

UDL Principles:

  • Multiple means of action and expression: students compose in their strongest language
  • Multiple means of representation: content moves between languages on demand
