Export Highlights to Google Docs

Export Highlights to Google Docs takes the annotations a student made across a webpage and the words they looked up in the Dictionary, and builds them into a new Google Doc. The Doc is created and populated for them, laid out and including word illustrations where they exist.

It works with the full range of annotation colors, so a student who has been marking up a page by reading strategy gets that structure carried into the Doc.

• Turns marking up a page into a set of notes a student actually keeps, rather than color that disappears when they close the tab
• Removes the copying-out step, which is exactly where students with writing difficulties lose the work they have already done
• Notes land in Google Docs, where the rest of a student's work already lives
• Word illustrations carry across, so the vocabulary stays multimodal in the notes
