What this Feature Does

With moteTranslator, students can choose between text-only and text-plus-audio translations, with the text highlighted as it is read. The read-aloud uses high quality human-like voices, to ensure maximum student engagement.

Why it Matters

MTSS tier 2:

Multimodal live translation supports ELLs by simultaneously displaying both English transcription and text and read aloud translation, exposing students to language. This helps to:

  • Build vocabulary by connecting words in their native language to English equivalents
  • Develop reading fluency through exposure to spoken and written English alongside their own language
  • Gain confidence to participate in class without fear of missing key information
