Library and Collections

Everything a student reads, scans, records or writes in Mote for iOS becomes a card in a personal library, sorted into color-coded Collections.

What this feature does:

Library and Collections is the home of Mote for iOS. Every web page, document, image, voice note and Writer document a student adds becomes a card in their personal library, and each item resumes from the last word read. Collections group those cards by class, project or mood, with a color for each.

Why it matters:

  • Gives students one place to return to, rather than re-finding the same worksheet or article every lesson
  • Supports organization and executive function by letting students group work by class or project
  • Resume where you left off removes the cost of losing your place, which matters most for slower or interrupted readers

MTSS:

  • Tier 1: A personal reading library available to every student
  • Tier 2/3: Structure for students who need help keeping track of their materials

UDL Principles:

  • Multiple means of engagement: students organize their own learning materials
