Localized Interface

Mote's own interface is fully translated into French, Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin Chinese: the Chrome Extension, the dashboard, and every button and label in between.

What this feature does:

Localized Interface means Mote itself, not just the content it handles, is available in French, Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin Chinese. The Chrome Extension, the dashboard, and every button, label and prompt in between are translated. This is distinct from Read Aloud and Translation, which cover 60+ languages of content; this is the product's own language.

Why it matters:

  • A tool a student cannot navigate is a tool they will not use, however good the content support is
  • Lowers the barrier for multilingual families and staff, not only students
  • Supports districts whose working language is not English
  • Every button and prompt is translated, not just the marketing pages

MTSS:

  • Tier 1: Every user can navigate Mote in a language they read
  • Tier 2/3: Removes a barrier for newcomer students using Mote independently

UDL Principles:

  • Multiple means of representation: the interface itself offered in multiple languages

  2. Choose your language.
  3. See the Chrome Extension and dashboard switch over.
  4. Admins: set the default for everyone with School Language in the My School dashboard.
