Play Page: Read Aloud

What this feature does:

Play Page reads an entire webpage, Google Doc, or Slides presentation out loud using natural-sounding voices and dialects.

Why it matters:

  • Helps dyslexic students or those with reading fatigue stay engaged
  • Supports multilingual learners with clear pronunciation and tone
  • Offers an additional option for students who benefit from multimodal instruction

Bonus Points:

The voices are that good – you'll want to test some out just to hear them. You can even choose different accents, languages and playback speeds!

Try it

  • Click the Mote extension icon to open the Sidebar
  • Choose the Play Page button (top icon)
  • Watch the words get highlighted as they're read aloud
  • Optional: Try adjusting the voice or playback speed and skip forward or backward
